medium-h34hxqiq8bmxfzap8_s9h96b353hphqnqjn3tl3xvucAfter Don Henley hinted that some form of the Eagles could do something with Glenn Frey’s son Deacon the internet blew up. Could they return?

Schmit who released his sixth studio album “Leap of Faith,” on Sept. 23 says he always knew his place in the Eagles. Interestingly he replaced Randy Meisner in both Poco and the Eagles. He joined the latter in 1977 after the Hotel California tour. The singer says, “I knew that they knew what they were doing; I knew that I would do a good job, and, obviously, they thought so, too. I didn’t feel nervous about anything. I was really fortunate. I got into a good thing.”

So, what’s his opinion on all the rumours? The bassist told Billboard magazine, “Right now there’s no future for the Eagles. My take is who knows what’s going to happen in the future. Maybe Don, Joe and I will get together on some level but I would personally feel uncomfortable calling it the Eagles.” He adds, “I think the Eagles are over. Glenn was such a big presence and he sort of orchestrated it all. He did a lot of the planning. So I have no answer for that. We have not talked about that at all.”

Frey died on January 18, 2016, he was 67.

A life-sized statue of Frey was unveiled at the Standin’ on the Corner Park in Winslow, Arizona on September 24, 2016 to honor his songwriting contributions of “Take It Easy,” the band’s first hit, co-written by Jackson Browne, from 1972. – by John Beaudin
