The guitarist knows that’s what the fans want. Getting him and Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford on the road together again or even better also in the studio. So what does Hackett think?

In 1979 I was 19 and very hungry for anything Genesis. In May Hackett released his superb 3rd album “Spectral Mornings.” It came out 5 months before Tony Banks’ first solo project “A Curious Feeling,” (Oct 1979) ten months before “Smallcreeps Day”(Feb 1980) Mike Rutherfords first. Phil Collins would not release his debut “Face Value” until Feb. 1981 and Gabriel was working on his third self titled album nicknamed “Melt”to be released in May 1980. Genesis would release “Duke” in March 1980.

Hackett’s “Spectral Morning” was one of my favorite album of that period and I asked him what space he was in during the recording.

Hackett new album album is called “The Night Siren” and this year the guitarist is touring and tipping his hat to the classic Genesis album “Wind & Wuthering” from 1976.
