This is really exciting and I’m sure will start a trend since everyone has a camera in their camera and who hasn’t heard the tunes up for grabs, “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer” and “Bennie and the Jets.”

toplogo_eltonThese tunes were done in the early 70’s, long before official videos were even a thing so with Elton John and his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin celebrating their 50th anniversary as writing partners they got an idea. Why don’t you create those videos?

Also these three songs just spark the imagination. Imagine what could be created with the bombastic, ‘Bennie and the Jets,’ the gorgeous solitary ‘Rocket Man’ and tender beautiful, ‘Tiny Dancer.’

The contest called “Elton John: The Cut” open Jan. 9, 2017. The competition closes on Jan. 23 and creators must be at least 16 years old.. Elton and Bernie are judges along with a panel of YouTube creators and industry players. Winners will receive 10K. – by John Beaudin
